St. Joseph
Neighborhood Center Restoring HOPE St. Joseph Neighborhood Center-
A Mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph https://sjncfl.org/ Demolition and reconstruction are underway to restore a 125 year old school in the Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine. The Sisters of St. Joseph will turn the former St. Benedict the Moor Catholic School into a community center for young single mothers. This program is called Restoring HOPE and its mission is to provide education and job training for young single mothers and child care for their children. This program will help young single working mothers with career certification opportunities, counseling, financial literacy guidance, parenting classes, mentoring, childcare support, and guidance. COCO members donated these 12 books and a bookcase to Restoring HOPE. See photos of the demolition and reconstruction the historic old school at https://sjncfl.org/photos-of-building Future Projects for Restoring HOPE: A Corporate Closet: This will be a clothing source for our young mothers. It will include professional attire, shoes and accessories that will help them make the best first impression…as well as help them to maintain a professional appearance at the workplace. Kiddo Closet: This closet will be stocked with diapers, hygiene products, and clothes for all the little ones that are growing too fast for moms to keep up. |
